Progress in Research and Development of Transgenic Rice

摘要:

水稻是世界上最重要的粮食作物之一,在我国粮食生产中占有举足轻重的地位。我国在杂交水稻育种领域取得了世界瞩目的成就,为我国粮食安全作出了重要贡献。转基因技术为水稻育种提供了新的手段,自20世纪80年代启动转基因水稻项目以来,我国全方位地开展了转基因水稻育种研究。目前,我国转基因水稻的研究总体处于国际先进水平,转基因抗虫水稻研究处于世界领先水平,有可能率先实现产业化,转基因水稻的应用将为确保我国粮食安全作出重要的贡献。

Abstract:

Rice is one of the most important crops in world, which occupies an important position in grain production in China. Remarkable achievements have been gained in the field of hybrid rice breeding, which have made important contribution to food security of China. Transgenic technology provides a new means for rice breeding. Since the startover of transgenic rice projects in 1980s, China has carried out  transgenic rice breeding research on every side. At present, China's transgenic rice research is located at the forefront of international level in general, and the insect-resistant transgenic rice research is taking the world-leading position, which may probably be the first in realizing industrialization. The application of transgenic rice will make an important contribution to ensure food security in China.
