With the frequent outbreaks of food safety incidents in recent years, food additive has become the most concerned food safety problem for the consumers. In fact, to use food additives legally and properly is necessary to maintain food safety. We can only consume limited varieties of processed foods with short shelf life without food additives. Food spoilage and corruption will become more unsafe factors. Food safety issue is very complicate in China. Using food additives excessively and adding not edible material illegally have caused many safety risks, although it is not the fault of food additive itself. It is necessary to complete the construction of law, regulation, and standard system, strengthen governments supervision and enterprises self discipline, so as to ensure the scientific and rational use of food additives, to maintain food safety, and bring benefit to peoples health.

The cultivated areas of genetically modified (GM) crops have been increased by an annual average of 10% speed, since their commercialized production for a large scale in 1996. In 2012, the plant area for GM crops reached 170 million hectares. GM crops have a great application prospect in solving the problems of global hunger, environment protection, improvement of food nutritional quality and convenient access to medicines. Yet GM technology exists certain risks, so it is an effective measure to strengthen the safety assessment for guaranteeing safety of GM food. Before genetically modified food enters into the market, their food safeties are assessed strictly and comprehensively, including nutrition, toxicology, allergenicity, etc. Besides, unintended effects and gut health assessment are complemented. All these measures have provided valid guarantee to avoid risks of genetically modified food and for its rapid development in the future. Any genetically modified food having passed the food safety assessment and acquired safety certificate is edible by consumers being at ease.

Based on the regulatory monitoring data of chlorpyrifos in vegetables sampled at random from markets and production bases in Beijing, and the consumption data of vegetables and body weight of different population collected in the China nationwide food consumption survey, the chronic dietary risk for children (7 years of age) and adult (30 years of age) populations were evaluated. In order to make the evaluation results conform to the reality, percentcroptreated (PCT) data were used. The result showed that the daily exposure of chlorpyrifos from vegetables for children is greater than that of adult group. The boy figure is about double to that of man;and girls is 1.78 to that of woman. Girls are the most sensitive population. The chronic assessment risk of adult man is acceptable. The rest populations are potentially risky. Great concern should be paid on them, especially children who takes the highest risky. The conclusion of risk assessment by percent (POR) was consistent with that by margin of exposure (MOE). It is feasible to use percentcroptreated data in risk evaluation. In order to reduce the residues of chlorpyrifos in vegetables, improving measures and surrogate pesticides should be taken in the course of vegetable production.

The genes associated with nitrogen fixation are often grouped in one or several contiguous units of the diazotrophic genome, which are the genetic basis of biological nitrogen fixation. Among them there are nitrogenase structural genes nifHDK, and many additional genes involved in electron transport and FeMocofactor biosynthesis and assembly. This paper conducted simple comparative analysis on the relationship between organization and evolution of nitrogenfixation gene clusters. Through comparing the nitrogenfixation gene clusters in all sequenced diazotrophs, we found that there were at least 6 conservative genes: nifH, nifD, nifK, nifE, nifN, and nifB, and all of them were essential for nitrogen fixation in characterized systems. Although there are some differences in their structures and organizing patterns by different diazotrophs. These nitrogenfixation gene clusters are structurally, mechanistically, and phylogenetically closely related. Meanwhile, the paper also prospected directions for studying nitrogenfixation genes. It aimed to provide theoretical basis for further studying the mechanism of biological nitrogen fixation and understanding the evolution of microbial nitrogen fixation.

Still fisheries take an irreplaceable important position in securing national food safety and striving for marine rights and interests. Therefore, only playing strategic guiding role is the way to change the position of fisheries. On the basis of analyzing the research platform and achievement of the marine economy and development strategy, analogied the present status of fishery economics development strategy, we found that less full-time researchers, low quality of research results and lack of systematicness are the 3 major characteristics of current situation of studies on fisheries economics and development strategy. In order to enhance the level of fisheries strategy research, we should carry out the research work in different fisheries classification, and combine with 4 urgent strategic issues of aquatic product quality & safety management strategy, ecological fisheries development strategy, low carbon fishery and carbon sinks fishery development strategy, fisheries response to climate change development strategy, to improve fisheries systematic development strategy research, and then it will play a more important role in the development navigation of modern fisheries.
