    Cotton is one of the important cash crops, which plays a critical role in national economy of China. This paper summarizes the present status of cotton breeding and production, existing problems and confronting challenges. It also analyzes in detail the application and progress of molecular breeding method in cotton breeding, and puts forward elative countermeasures and suggestions about development orientations and research areas for cotton molecular breeding.

    Rapeseed is one of the primary oil crops in China, which is laden with heavy responsibility to insure the supply of plant oil. Rapeseed oil accounts for over 57% of the oil production from all oil crops in China. In recent years, China faces severe security problem of edible oil, and over 60% are depended on import. The low yield and high production cost of Chinese rapeseed varieties are the main reasons which restrict the development of rapeseed growing in China. So, strengthening the rapeseed breeding technology is the effective approach for developing domestic rapeseed industry. SNP array, a high flux and new technology for molecular breeding, has brought an uncommon opportunity for promoting the development of rapeseed industry. Right now,we own the incomparable research foundations on the sequence of rapeseed and its elementary species and the technology of SNP marker developing, which offer the compelling advantages for developing SNP array. Rapeseed researchers are trying to introduce and develop the domestic platform for SNP array, which will offer the technical support for efficient development of rapeseed breeding.

    Potato has played an important and irreplaceable role in ensuring national grain food security, establishing modern agriculture system, and stimulating social economic development. At present, potato has become a key crop in southern China for winter agriculture development and industry structure adjustment. China is now the number one potato producing country in the world. Research activities related to potato industry are necessary for its stable development. On the basis of reviewing potato research status, this paper puts forward areas and key contents for further study, so as to lay a solid foundation for the development of potato industry.

    This paper briefly summarized the key thing internet technology for precise breeding sow and lactating cow feeding from intelligent identification technology, estrus detecting technology, smart equipment arming technology, automatic control feeding technology and computer analyzing and treatment technology based on collected data. It expounded the internal and external research progress and factors restricting animal and poultry precise feeding in China, and pointed out the gap between China and the developed countries. The paper also analyzed the requirements for applying thing internet technology. Finally, it discussed about the key research tasks and provided  suggestions for implementing the thing internet technology in precise livestock feeding in the future.

    Oilseeds, as important sources of fat and protein, could improve food structure, and promote development of aquaculture and processing industries, etc.. At present, increasing demands are put forward for improving unhealthy oil processing technology, optimizing effective refining process, reducing waste and developing high value-added products. The paper reviewed the progress made in oilseeds processing technology, utilization technology of different components, and existing problems. It also prospects the future development orientation so as to provide references for oilseeds processing and comprehensive utilization.

    The application of light-emitting diode (LED) in modern agriculture has been increasingly concerned by countries worldwide with the development of LED technology and the decrease of its cost. LED has many advantages compared with the other electric light sources. First, it has good traits of photoelectric such as small size, longer life, low energy consumption, high luminous efficiency and low heat production. Second, light spectral composition of LED light source can be easily integrated or tailored according to the need of plant. LED light sources can efficiently promote the growth & development, photo-morphogenesism, yield and quality of agricultural organisms. In this paper, application status of LED in agriculture was outlined, potential of LED application was analyzed, and key factors that limits application of LED in agriculture was pointed out. Finally, future development strategy, orientations and countermeasures of LED application in modern agriculture were discussed.

    At the end of the 1970s, sea-cage was the most important technical achievement in marine fish aquaculture. The sustainable investigation and application for several decades made the modern marine agriculture have a new interpretation. Along with the progress on equipment technologies of sea-cage, technology around the industry chain of “one fish” aqua-cultural engineering, such as germplasm, farming, nutrition, management, environment, processing, logistics, information and facility technology has become perfect day by day. Sea-cage is a indispensable and important equipment in modern sea aquaculture.

    With the economic development and improvement of living standards, life quality and health level has attracted the attention of the world. The functional foods bring flourishingly opportunity for food industries. Nanotechnology, with special properties, is regarded as one of the three most promising technologies of the 21st century. The United State, Japan and some European countries have strengthened the power in studying and developing nano-food. Application of nanotechnology in food industry is advancing rapidly. Lipids, as important source of fatty acids, are considered to be an irreducible constituent of tissue and active substances and also carrier of biological function. Therefore, lipids are one of the most important bases in food nanotechnology. This paper expounded the development trend and international policy of nanotechnology in worldwide foods. Current situation, technology distance and needs for nano-functional foods in our country were analyzed. Finally, developmental thought and key task for nano-functional foods was put forward.

    Food packaging is one of the most important parts in packaging industry, which leads to increasingly serious environment pollution. This paper reviewed the global development status and trend of edible and biodegradable food packaging materials. It analyzed the social problems resulted from petrochemical-based plastic packaging and research status and trend in developing biodegradable food packing materials. This paper analyzed the differences existing between Chinas bio-pesticide industry and international craft brother industry, emphasized  the key role of bio-pesticide and biological control application in grain food safe production.     Nitrogen-fixing microorganism provides large amount of nitrogen sources to crops. It is of great significance to carry out biological nitrogen fixation research in solving great social issues of grain shortage, energy consumption and environmental pollution in China. This paper reviews the current development status on nitrogen-fixing microorganism and bio-fertilizer industry in the world, and makes case analysis on successful cases in applying bio-fertilizer during agricultural production in Brazil, Argentina and other countries. The authors also put forward constructive suggestions for the development of industrial bio-fertilizer in China, such as studies on mechanisms of nif gene expression and regulation, together with interaction of microbe-plant at the functional genomic level must be strengthened. This will lay an important theoretical basis for developing comprehensive engineering strains with high nitrogen fixation and stress tolerance ability.

    On the upgrade of genome sequencing technology, and various other genome technologies, the excavation of gene resources and molecular breeding are greatly promoted. Along with more and more molecular breeding projects in aquaculture have been started up, studies on gene resources of aquatic animals and molecular breeding have entered into a new phase, and laid a solid foundation for rapid and sustainable development of aquaculture. China has become one of the leaders on genome sequencing of aquaculture animals. However, there is still a big challenge on the technology development either in utilization of gene resources or in R & D of molecular breeding technology. This paper analyzes the international and domestic situation of studying molecular breeding and genetic resources application. It also prospects chances and challenges confronting aquatic animal fields in China and puts forward some suggestions for future development.
