    Retrospect, Status and Prospect of Seed Industry Development of Aquaculture in China

    Over the last 4 decades, the aquaculture in China has made significant progress, and is becoming one of industries developed fast in among broad\|sense agriculture. Since seed production is the source and essential material basis for aquaculture, it is proved to be the core issue of aquaculture industry. This paper reviewed the development process of young seed industry in aquaculture of China. The initiate seeds for cultivation came from wild population undoubtedly; the true seed industry did not appear until the success of domestication for parent fish, breeding under artificial conditions and seeding in large scale. The introduction of good foreign seeds can accelerate the formation of new industry. Artificial breeding is a continuous breeding practice, which is based on the formulation of a certain seed industry with large scale artificial breeding, especially under the condition of complete artificial propagation, and carries out seed selection by successive generations according to the willingness and direction of the people. Since the 1990's, the aquaculture in China has attracted considerable attention and moved towards a healthy development particularly in mariculture. The paper also commented on the trends of related technology in modern aquaculture seed industry, and predicted that technological innovation would dramatically promote the development of aquaculture seed industry.

    Marine farming has become an important fundamental industry and rised rapidly. Developing marine aquatic biological seed industry is a key industry for marine agricultural high and new technology industry in china. This paper introduced the present research situation of marine aquatic biological genetic breeding in China. The selective breeding, crossbreeding, cell engineering breeding, molecular marker assisted breeding, genome selective breeding, etc. core technology were presented. The paper also expounded the status of marine aquatic biological breeding technology, existing problems and development trend, aiming at providing references for the rapid development of marine agriculture in china.

    Distant\|water fisheries began in 1985 in China, now there were more than 1 800 distant\|water fishing vessels andoperate in 38 countries or regions in three oceans. The work mode had developed from single bottom\|trawling vessels in the beginning to multiple fishing vessels such as trawling, purse seining, hook fishing, gill netting and other fishing vessels etc.. Fishing gear and fishing technology developed very fast. 20 years ago, Chinas distant\|water fisheries mainly imitated technology from abroad, but now, China already have the capability of independent innovation. This paper introduced the mainly fishing gear used in Chinas distant\|water fisheries and the problems faced now, which were expect to give some advice for further development.

    Since entering into the 21st century, the coastal countries around the world have one after another developed marine development strategies, and the science and technology in marine fields will usher in a new development opportunity. China is a big marine country, and also a great marine fishery country, but compared with the developed marine fishery countries, there are still a wide gap in marine fishing equipment and technology. This paper analyzed the gaps in fishing equipment and technology between our country and the developed countries; expounded the relevant foreign research reports′ review on Chinas marine fishing fishery equipment and technology including their estimates on our development trend; and introduced the impact of the developed countries′ high\|tech export restriction system to China on marine fishing equipment and technology and the breakthrough situation. On this basis, the paper proposed the focus direction of marine fishing equipment and technology in the coming years, so as to provide technical support for the sustainable development of marine fishing in China.

    To improve the stability of astaxanthin, lecithin and chitosan had been used to prepare nanocapsules by self\|aggregation as carriers for astaxanthin. The factors were investigated that effect on the preparation of nanocapsules, such as ratio of lecithin and chitosan and time of sonication. With the conditions of 5∶1 to 20∶1 (w/w) ratio of lecithin and chitosan, sonication for 15min, the stable nanocapsules could be obtained with mean size of 13751 nm to 139.46 nm and positive surface charges. The results of TEM measurement confirmed that the nanocapsules have irregular spherical shape. The encapsulation efficiency of astaxanthin was 51.02% and loading capacity was 10.34%. Nanocapsules loaded with astaxanthin showed a controlled release profile with different pH values. After 72 h at pH 1.2, pH 6.8 and pH 7.4, astaxanthin had been slowly released from nanocapsules 66.97%, 30.34% and 28.19 respectively. The nanocapsules may provide a promising carrier system for the protecting and delivery of astaxanthin as carriers for functional food.

    With the rapid development of Apostichopus japonicas farming in northern China, the diseases become more and more serious. Among all diseases, the high morbidity and high mortality of disease “skin ulceration syndrome”, has restricted the development of Apostichopus japonicas farming seriously. The paper overviewed the epidemic situation and symptoms of this disease, analyzed in detail the pathogen and pathogenesy, and summarized the common diagnostic techniques and control measures. The paper also prospected the new direction for the sustainable development of Apostichopus japonicas farming, so as to provide scientific basis for effective diagnosis and control of “skin ulceration syndrome”.

    The flatfish is suitable for cryogenic breeding, and has become an important marine fish in China, because of its delicious and nutritious meat with high economic value. In recent years, with the expansion of intensive breeding scale, its disease happened frequently, which has hindered the development of aquaculture. As an effective means to prevent disease, immunopotentiator has been applied widely in flatfish culture. This paper introduced the roles of polysaccharides, oligosaccharide, vitamin, micro\|ecological agents and Chinese herbal medicine, etc. polytype immunopotentiators in flatfish growth, immunity and disease resistance. It also reviewed the research progress achieved in processing technology and drug administration, etc.

    Based on the investigation at 241 standard pig farms from 28 provinces in China, this paper systematically reflected the present situation of standard pig production pattern in China. It also analyzed the pig production and market patterns, reproduction and breeding system, feed quality monitoring, comprehensive disease control, pigpen design and environmental control, etc. important factors. The results indicated that in China the pig breeding and production patterns were multiple, the standardization were gradually formed. The integration breeding pattern was the major standard breeding pattern. Besides, this paper summarized the investigation participants′ demands for pig standardization development, standard technical innovation and breeding pattern, and put forward several suggestions for the reference of relevant departments of policy\|making, industrial technology research, development and extension.

    DNA methylation involves the addition of a methyl group to the 5 position of the cytosine pyrimidine ring. DNA methylation can regulation the plant genetic information in epigenetic level. It plays important role in stress response, gene expression, and genome stability.     Potassium is an essential mineral element in cytolist for plant growth and development. Plants absorb potassium through potassium channels or transporters. There are 4 potassium transporters families, among which KUP/HAK/KT families have the largest family members and received most thorough studies. Its members are kinds of transmembrane protein, which exist on plant plasma or tonoplast and have high affinity with K+. KUP/HAK/KT transporter not only play roles in plant absorbing and transporting K+, but also take part in adjusting plant growth and development. This paper expounded the research progress on classification, tissue localization, physiological function and expression regulation of the KUP/HAK/KT family, so as to provide theoretical references for studying the mechanism of plant potassium absorption.

    The fluoride ion can affect the growth of many bacteria, such as Streptococcus mutans, Thiobacillus thiooxidans, and moderately thermoacidophilic ironoxidizing bacteria et al. The bactericidal mechanisms of fluoride ion include the destruction of cell membrane structure, affecting the ATPase activity and inhibiting a variety of metabolic enzymes, such as enolase enzyme, etc. There are at least 3 fluoride resistant mechanisms in bacteria. Firstly, fluoride ion can synthesize organofluorine compounds. Secondly, the fluoride riboswitch controls the expression of certain genes related to the fluoride resistance. Thirdly, fluoride can be transported by antiporter (EriCF). As a result, it is very important to find fluoride resistance genes and clarify the resistant mechanism to fluoride. Such researches can help us to understand the resistant mechanisms of the other anions. Moreover, it can establish the foundation for solving problems of bacteria growth in environment with high concentration of fluoride and using fluoride ion to kill harmful bacteria.

    Type Ⅲ polyketide synthase (PKS) is considered as the simplest PKS in structure. Type Ⅲ PKSs are very common in plants, bacteria and fungi. With the development of genomics, more and more attentions were paid on bacterial type Ⅲ PKSs. In different bacteria, type Ⅲ PKSs show different functions, produce diverse products and display all kinds of biological activities. At the same time, biological engineering modification of bacterial type Ⅲ PKSs has always been the hotspot of research. This article reviewed the recent research progress on type Ⅲ PKSs in bacteria, which has been identified in characteristics, and bacterial type Ⅲ PKSs are divided into 5 groups based on different product structure. Their different structures, functions, and characteristics were discussed, respectively. It is of significant importance for in\|depth studying different bacterial type Ⅲ PKSs and their biological engineering modification.

    Urease catalyzed hydrolysis of urea formed ammonium ions and carbonate ions. It has extensive application value. The strain of S. pasteurii ATCC11859 was screened through NTG (N\|methyl\|N″\|nitroso\|N\|nitrosoguanidine) mutation and a high yielding urease mutant was obtained. Among which strain B\|20 gave the highest urease activity of 28.37 mmol/min. This was increased 207% of the original strain. The strain inoculation amount and culture conditions of nitrogen source type were optimized. The results showed that the inoculation quantity was 10%, and using soybean meal as nitrogen source could achieve maximum urease activity as high as 32.9 mmol/min. This indicated that the technology is effective method for breeding high\|yield urease strain.

    Oncorhynchus mykiss was cultured all over the world, this paper analyzed the genetic variation of MHC\|DAB intron 2 sequences (308 bp) in Gansu golden trout, Donaldson rainbow trout and USA Golden trout using PCR\|SSCP. 11 different nucleotide sequences(Ⅰ~Ⅺ)were detected from 108 positive clones, a maximum of 4 alleles were amplified from one single individual. Allele Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅵ were presented in all the 3 populations. Ⅳ was only presented in Donaldson rainbow trout; Ⅶ only presented in Gansu golden trout; Ⅸ, Ⅹ and Ⅺ only presented in Golden trout. In Gansu golden trout, Donaldson rainbow trout and Golden trout, the nucleotide polymorphic sites were 17, 19 and 22. The nucleotide diversities (Pi) were 0.005, 0.008 and 0.013. The average numbers of nucleotide differences (K) were 1.200, 2.000 and 3.333, respectively. The genetic distance of Gansu golden trout and Donaldson rainbow trout was the smallest (0231), while that of Gansu golden trout and Golden trout was the largest (0.539). The genetic differentiation that compared any 2 of the 3 populations all up to the standard of population division (D>0.05). The genetic differentiation index (GST) of the 3 populations was 0.097, indicating that the variation mainly came from the inter\|individual of the population.

    Remote sensing data has the characteristics of spatial continuous imaging and repeated sampling. It can be used for monitoring regional wheat jointing stage, and then provide basic data for studying and monitoring of winter wheat late freezing injury. Taking winter wheat planting area in Henan Province as studying area, this paper firstly established the equation between the accumulated temperature and the cumulative value of land surface temperature (LST). And the LST data was provided by remote sensing. On this basis, the accumulated temperature demand quantity of winter wheat from turning green to jointing was transformed into the accumulated LST demand quantity. Then starting from turning green date, the date when the accumulated LST value reached its demand quantity from turning green to jointing was calculated by using the Terra/MODIS LST data product MOD11A2. And the date is the jointing stage start time. The results showed that the wheat jointing start date concentrated in late March to early April. The annual temperature differences could cause significant fluctuations in jointing start time. From the view of spatial distribution, except for Xinyang area, the jointing start time of winter wheat from south to north gradually postpone in Henan Province. The error between the monitoring results and the observation values could be controlled within 5 d in most cases, which showed that remote sensing data, LST, together with the accumulated temperature model could be used to monitor the jointing stage.

    In order to learn the advanced experience of the developed countries and promote the rapid and healthy development of China Aloe industry, a delegation from Aloe Industry Specialized Committee of CAPNSE China visited Seoul National University and the key aloe enterprises in Korea In 2012. During this visit, we understand the development history of Aloe Industry, Aloe planting form, Aloe products, the latest research achievements of Aloe, and the development of Aloe market in Korea, etc. We got a lot of enlightments: orientation fixation is the key for industry success, scientific support is the base for industry development, and government support is the guarantee for industry development. Based on the above enlightenments, we put forward the following suggestions for the rapid and healthy development of Chinas Aloe industry: ①to insist on industry orientation and deepen the strategic research, ②to standardize market behavior and strictly manage the market, ③to increase investment in scientific research and to tamp a solid industrial foundation.

    Nowadays, dense phase CO2 (DPCD) technology gradually emerges in the food industry as a new non\|thermal pasteurization technology. This paper summarized the bactericidal mechanism of DPCD, the influencing factors for pasteurization, and its application in food industry, which provides reference for in\|depth study and potential application.

    The phenomenon of dead pigs floating on the Huangpu River has sparked peoples attention and concern about safe disposal of dead livestock and poultry. Currently, there are still a lot of problems existing in the disposal of dead livestock and poultry in China, such as insufficient numbers of harmless treating pool, single technology, serious secondary pollution, lack of compensation mechanisms, etc.. This paper summarized the harmless disposal methods of dead livestock and poultry, and existing problems in these treatments. The paper also systematically sumsed up the theory of aerobic fermentation technology for treating dead livestock and poultry, and researched status and progress at home and abroad. The authors suggested that China should learn from foreign experience, promote the aerobic fermentation technology, carry out studies on optimizing dead livestock and poultry aerobic fermentation technology, and on controlling harmful gas, etc. At the same time, the paper suggested the rational selection of dead livestock and poultry harmless treatment methods, and to adopt comprehensive measures according to local conditions.

    Comprehensive Evaluation of High Temperature and Humidity Tolerance of Hot Pepper at Germination Stage Based on Mathematical Model

    To study the high temperature and humidity tolerance of different hot pepper varieties at germination stage, screen index for tolerance to high temperature and humidity, and establish a reliable mathematical evaluation model for pepper tolerance to high temperature and humidity, 13 physiological indexes under high temperature and humidity stress were tested in this paper with 10 pepper materials as materials. Taking high temperature and humidity tolerance coefficient of each index, and seed dry weight and electrolyte leakage rate, etc. indexes as measuring gists for high temperature and humidity, using principal components analysis, clustering analysis and stepwise regression, etc. methods, we carried out comprehensive evaluation on hot peppers cold tolerance. The results showed that the 15 single indexes could be converted to 5 independent comprehensive components. The membership function method and cluster analysis were used to divide 10 hot pepper materials into 4 kinds according to their tolerance degrees to high temperature and humidity. The mathematical evaluation model for hot pepper high temperature and humidity tolerance was established by stepwise regression, D=(-141.548-0.071X2+5.580X7+4.195X13-1.363X14-3.432X15)×10-3(R2=0.999 36). And the evaluation accuracy of the equation was estimated over 97.39%. Five identification indexes related to high temperature and humidity tolerance at germination stage were screened. They were electrolyte leakage rate, dry weight of seedling, mean germination days, germination value and average daily germination rate. These 5 indexes could be used under the same stress condition for rapid identification and prediction of hot pepper varieties at germination stage. These results will lay a solid foundation for large scale evaluation on pepper germplasm tolerance to high temperature and humidity.
